Balance Bike Sizing
Whether you are 2 or 22, we have a balance bike that will fit your size.
Three easy steps in choosing a balance bike
First, inseam measurement - Getting a proper fit on a balance bike requires one simple measurement, the inseam measurement. The picture below represents a proper inseam measurement.
Then, match the inseam measurement to the chart below. If your child is between 2 and 5 years of age, you will probably find many manufacturers that will work.
Some useful tips....
Don't buy for the future, buy for the now. A bike that is too big for your child might lead to frustration and impair their ability to learn to balance on a bike.
If your child is borderline between a 12in and a 16in bike, it might be safer to go with the 12in bike. For the most part this is a judgement call based on many factors such as coordination, height and weight.
If your child is 3, most 12 in bikes will fit fine. Measure carefully for 2 and under as well as over 4 years of age.
You want your child to be able to step over the frame and have their feet firmly planted on the ground while sitting on the seat.
